This is the first time I have come up on the DA mention system, I am happy you liked my drawing enough to want to colour it. I struggled with larger area's first too the problem I was finding was if they started to dry before I finished then it would leave streaks on the paper, what I do to try and solve that, is colour in circles and be quiet generous with the application and still work with it while it is still wet. The whole thing doesn't have to be still wet just the part next to your are still working on.

So I start in one part and kind of work my way across. I hope that helps. I use markers to do my full colour work too! Keep going and keep practising they are pretty tricky at first. I also remember I learned a lot of tips from the Letraset site, they used to have videos up showing how artists use them. I hope that helps.
